Appointments at Lake Forest Animal Hospital:

When you arrive for your appointment, our reception staff will collect your information and any existing medical history you can provide on your pet. It’s always best to provide us with the name of any other hospitals who have treated your pet, so that we can request a copy of the medical history and review it prior to your appointment with us. After creating your file and weighing your pet, you will be placed into one of our exam rooms where a veterinary technician will greet you and obtain a thorough history of your pet.

After relaying this information to the doctor, the veterinarian will perform a physical exam and answer any questions you may have. We routinely perform the majority of simple examination and treatment procedures with you present in the exam room, and rarely take pets “into the back” for treatment during your appointment. Depending on your pet’s health, we may administer annual vaccinations and test your pet for common parasites, prescribe medications from our in-house pharmacy or online pharmacy, or perform diagnostic testing such as bloodwork or radiographs. All payment is due at the time of services rendered, so if you have financial concerns we request that you express them at the beginning of your appointment so that we can tailor the medical services to your needs and keep them affordable.

Preventive Care and Critical Care to Keep Pets Healthy

An annual check-up is a critical part of your pet’s wellness program. This will include a full physical wellness exam, routine vaccinations, and parasite screenings. Your vet will check the health of your pet from head to tail and discuss ways you can keep your pet healthy and happy at home. You will be very happy you came to Lake Forest Animal Hospital for service.

We routinely perform sick pet exams on pets of all ages, and have a range of diagnostic capabilities to help determine your pet’s illness and the best course of action to keep them happy and healthy. If your pet requires hospitalization, our hospital is equipped to provide critical care services for you.

Dr. Liberto and his associate veterinarians are experienced in performing a wide variety of surgical procedures, including orthopedic and ophthalmic surgeries, and we have full digital radiology and ultrasound capabilities on location. We strive to ensure peace of mind in our clients, are are always transparent about our medical treatments and happy to answer any questions you may have about your pet’s health.

Bring in any medical history you have of your pet when you come to our vet clinic. It’s best to keep a journal of your pet’s health throughout his or her life, including behavioral shifts. If you have something like this, share it with our team. If not, let us know everything that you think will be important. Our doctors can still work with whatever information you have. Files can be faxed to us at 301-740-1565.
